Prof. Marc Kraft, Dr.-Ing.
Expert in Medical Technology
Prof. Marc Kraft has been head of the medical technology department at the Technical University Berlin since 2004 and maintains his practical roots as consultant to the SPECTARIS industrial association, as well as to various medical engineering companies. Before starting his professorship at the TU Berlin, he was head of research in the medical engineering industry. During that time, he contributed significantly to the development of an innovative special reprocessing technology for complex medical devices and, as a result, has set a milestone for the ecological handling of medical devices.
The research areas covered by the medical technology department led by Prof. Marc Kraft lie in the following fields:
• Development of testing and evaluation methods for medical devices and their implementation through the construction of testing devices and simulators,
• Development of medical devices, instruments (cardiology, minimally invasive surgery) and aids (prosthetic limbs, orthotic devices),
• Development of cleaning and disinfection procedures for medical devices.
The main focus is on mechanical, experimental and design related aspects.
